LSU vs. Ole Miss: game time, TV channel, odds and more
No. 25 LSU will host No. 23 Ole Miss in Week 8 SEC action.
Date: October 22, 2016

Game Time: 8:00 PM Central
TV Channel: ESPN

Over/Under: 60.5
This is a very interesting game. In fact, I’d venture to say most MSU fans are just as interested to watch this game as our own game against Kentucky.
LSU interim coach Ed Orgeron will face his former team, nearly a decade after being fired as head coach of Ole Miss. Rebel fans remember him for a terrible three year where they never won more than four games and his third season featured an 0-8 SEC finish.
Since then, however, Coach O has done very well as an interim coach. He was 6-2 at USC in 2013 when Lane Kiffin was fired. That prompted some to suggest he should remain the head coach there but it did not happen. Instead, he took a year off and landed at LSU as D-line coach in 2015. Now he’s 2-0 after taking the reign from Les Miles who was fired after a Week 4 loss to Auburn.
Now folks are saying Orgeron is coaching for a chance to get the permanent job. And soundly beating Ole Miss would go a long way towards making that a reality.
Ole Miss is now 3-3 after losing to Arkansas. Rebel fans discussed the possibility (or probability as they put it) of winning out and going 10-2 once they whipped Georgia in Week 4. Now there’s a scenario that could spiral out of control if they aren’t able to beat the Tigers tonight.
OM still has Auburn and Texas A&M on the schedule after this game which they are an underdog at night in the Valley. Plus Vanderbilt and Mississippi State which are expected wins but games against teams that really want to beat the Rebs. Could this turn into a five or six or seven loss year?
Whenever these two teams meet it is always an interesting game, especially in Baton Rouge. Go Tigers!
