(STATS) - The rivalry matchup between Maine and New Hampshire has been moved up two days to Aug. 31 at Wildcat Stadium in Durham, New Hampshire.

Traditionally the season-ending matchup between the two teams, this year's season-opening battle for the Brice-Cowell Musket has been dubbed the "Thursday Night Throwdown." It will mark the first time UNH will play its home opener on a weeknight.

UNH has captured the Musket in seven straight games against Maine and 14 of the last 15 meetings since 2003. The Wildcats won last year's meeting 24-21 during an 8-5 season, including 6-2 in CAA Football. Maine was 6-5 overall and 5-3 in the CAA.
