Map shows how Bret Bielema flew over 19K miles in 2 months recruiting
Just how grueling is recruiting for big-time college football coaches? Arkansas did the math and tabulated that head coach Bret Bielema has logged an incredible 19,714 miles of air travel in the past two months during recruiting.
The school also used an interactive Google My Maps widget to show Bielema’s travels from Nov. 29, 2015 to Jan. 29, 2016.
Bielema crammed 47 different flights into six weeks. His travel is the equivalent of flying across the country from John F. Kennedy International Airport in New York City to Los Angeles International Airport approximately eight times.
Here’s a weekly breakdown:
Bielema obviously is far from the only head coach criss-crossing the nation this time of year. As the Notre Dame football Twitter account attests, coach Brian Kelly traveled over 10,000 miles in six days last week.
