Mark Dantonio gave Michigan State's miracle play a name
Because of the times in which we live, one of the big talking points to follow Michigan State's incredible comeback win over Michigan on Saturday was this: What will the final play be called?
MSU coach Mark Dantonio offered a name during his weekly press conference Tuesday.
"I came up with Rangers: Mission 4-10," he said with a smile before adding, "How's that? There you go. That's all I've got for you. We're on to Indiana."
Ranger is a reference to what the Spartans call their punt return team while the rest would seem to be a reference to the down and the amount of time left on the clock when the play started (though the Detroit Free Press reported the "4" was in reference to the mental aspect of the game being "four times more important than the physical aspect," something MSU coaches had been telling players all week).
Turns out, @DantonioMark has named the wild @MSU_Football game-winning play. It's "Rangers: Mission 4-1-0" https://t.co/HjlK1AB37t
