Mark Richt convinced UGA and Miami will play for a national title

Mark Richt was back in Athens over the weekend to participate in the 2015 Georgia awards banquet. Apparently the former Bulldog coach remains as popular as ever locally, as one thing in particular brought the banquet to a standing ovation.

The newly minted Miami head coach believes the two teams he is most recently linked to will play in a title game.

“I’m 100 percent convinced that the University of Georgia and the University of Miami are on a collision course for a national championship,” Richt said according to Dawg Nation.

In 15 seasons in Athens, Richt led Georgia to a 145-51 record. If the Bulldogs win against Penn State in the TaxSlayer Bowl, the team will have won 10 or more games in four of Richt's last five seasons as Georgia's coach.
