Markell Jones is Purdue's most important player in 2015

It may seem strange to make a true freshman Purdue’s most important player in 2015. However, consider that the Boilermakers lose their top two rushers from last season in Akeem Hunt and Raheem Mostert.

Additionally, Jones isn’t your typical true freshman. The reigning Mr. Football in Indiana scored 60 touchdowns as a high school senior and represents exactly the type of recruit that Darrell Hazell needs to bring into West Lafayette.

If Markell Jones can be a steady performer for this offense behind quarterback Austin Applby, Purdue’s offense could surprise teams this season.
