Martinez, Kalambayi named to Butkus Award watch list

Stanford linebackers Blake Martinez and Peter Kalambayi were named to the Butkus Award watch list on Tuesday.

The Butkus Award is presented annually to the nation's top linebacker. Last season, UCLA's Eric Kendricks took home the award.

Martinez, a senior, has also been named to the Nagurski Trophy, Bednarik Award, Lott Impact Trophy and Lombardi Award watch lists so far this season.

Kalambayi, a junior, played in 13 games for the Cardinal last season and had 32 tackles, 9.5 tackles for loss and 6.5 sacks.
