Maryland loses second DL early to NFL Draft
Maryland football announced Thursday night defensive tackle Quinton Jefferson plans to give up his last year of eligibility and enter the NFL Draft.
Jefferson started all 12 games this season and led Terps defensive linemen in tackles with 39, including 6.5 sacks and 12.5 for loss.
“The past five years at Maryland have been truly the best time of my life,” Jefferson said in a release. “I am very thankful for all the opportunities the University of Maryland has given me, and look forward to graduating this weekend.”
According to the school, Jefferson has completed work toward a degree in family science and will graduate Saturday.
Defensive end Yannick Ngakoue previously announced he will enter the draft after breaking the school single-season record with 13.5 sacks.
