Maryland vs FIU Live Stream: Watch Terps vs Golden Panthers Online
Here’s where to watch the Maryland Terps take on the FIU Golden Panthers live online.
Week 1 of college football is behind us, and it’s time to see how teams look once the rust is off. The second weekend isn’t as fulfilled as opening week, but that doesn’t mean there is a ton of excitement waiting to happen.
After a strong opening statement against Howard in their 52-13 victory, the Maryland Terps look to take on their Florida road trip with a W. Although Howard isn’t Alabama, claiming a Week 1 win with that big of a blowout is something that should be praised.
The Terps took a lead early and never let Howard even begin to inch their way back. Their 519 yards of total offense was impressive. But what truly made it impressive was that it was a joint effort. One quarterback threw for over 100 yards, and three running back exceeded 50 yards in their 315 yard night.
Maryland shouldn’t expect to have that wide of a margin of victory in this matchup. Running back, Lorenzo Harrison and quart back, Perry Hills, are going to need to carry their first half performances throughout an entire game.
Their defense will also be facing their first actual talent this season. This will be the real test to see if their 13 points allowed in Week 1 is all it’s cracked up to be.
For Florida International (FIU), they’re looking to bounce back from their loss to Indiana. Although they did put up one of the better fights in Week 1, they’ll need to execute in the fourth quarter in order to snap their one-game losing streak.
Their biggest concern this week is turnovers. Quarterback, Alex McGough, threw three interceptions last week. Facing a team who just won 52-13 isn’t going to end well if that number doesn’t drop.
FIU is also going to need to establish a running game this week. When your leading rusher runs for 23 yards on 10 attempts, there’s a clear problem.
FIU will need to adjust quickly in this game if they don’t want it to turn into a blowout fast. That being said, they did manage to keep the game close against Indiana for three quarters. Their focus will need to be on producing more offense and generating some touchdowns. If they’re able to do that, they could be in good shape.
There’s no definite answer as to how this game is going to play out. It could either be a major blowout and we could start to question Maryland not being in the Top 25. Or, FIU could prove that all the rust is off after Week 1.
