Jim Harbaugh said sharing a stage with the two men who stand in his way of returning Michigan to the top of the Big Ten was "a pleasure, a privilege" and "a blessing."

Mark Dantonio defended the quality of football already being played in the league before Harbaugh was hired.

Urban Meyer said the big-name trio were just in Detroit working toward a common goal.

“We’re doing our jobs, and our jobs are educators and leaders," Meyer told a group of reporters at the Sound Mind Sound Body camp in Michigan on June 12, per BuckeyeSports.com. "You have a chance to make an impact on a young guy’s life and you’re going to do that. I don’t look at it as odd at all. I know I get a lot of questions about it, but it’s not odd at all. I’ve been around a lot of great coaches my entire life, and this is no exception.”

Meyer spoke as the head coach of the defending national champion Ohio State. Dantonio represented a Michigan State team that has won two Big Ten titles this decade.

Their recent runs of success and Harbaugh's hiring as head coach at Michigan have the Big Ten suddenly winning a perception battle it had been going for nearly 10 years.

The three figure to engage in battles on and off the field that could pull the rest of the league up another rung on the ladder, although Meyer suggested that process is already well underway.

“The Big Ten conference for some reason was kicked around for a while,” Meyer said. “Whatever was the perception three or four years ago is not the perception anymore. We all have a job to continue to ride that momentum, and hiring quality, quality coaches is a big part of that momentum. I’m proud to represent the Big Ten, and I’m proud to be a part of this incredible momentum in this part of the country.”
