Miami Hurricanes Bowl Projections After Week 11

Published Jun. 30, 2017 6:28 p.m. ET

The Miami Hurricanes have turned their season around with two straight wins after a four-game losing streak. Miami will play its last road game of the season Saturday at NC State and finish the regular season at home November 26 against Duke.

Miami has to focus on their last two games of the season and not the Bowl Projections. The victory over Pittsburgh was a big win in the ACC Standings. The Hurricanes and Panthers are tied for sixth in the ACC with Wake Forest.

The majority of the projections have Miami in one of the ACC’s first tier bowls. College Sports Madness in the only one that has the ‘Canes below the first tier in the Quick Lane Bowl against Indiana.

The Taxslayer or Russell Athletic Bowl are the most prestigious and closest projected bowl games geographically for the ‘Canes. Add in potential matchups with Florida in the Taxslayer in Jacksonville or former Big East Foe West Virginia in the Russell Athletic and Miami would have a good postseason challenge for Mark Richt’s young team.

Another possible opponent could be Georgia in the Belk Bowl. That matchup would be one of the most intriguing games of this postseason.

With all the off-season attrition and players that have been out or lost to injury, getting to a forst tier Bowl Game would be a good accomplishment for Richt’s first season in Miami. If they win out, including their bowl game the Hurricanes would exceed Jimmy Johnson 8-5 record in his first season in 1984.
