Michigan State announces departure of defensive back

The race to fill one of the starting spots at cornerback at Michigan State has one less competitor after the announcement Justin Williams will transfer and play elsewhere. 

Spartan Digest confirmed reports the sophomore was granted his release. 

A product of Port St. Lucie Treasure Coast High School in Florida, Williams was a Scout.com three-star recruit in 2012 whose other offers included Purdue and South Carolina.
