Michigan State Football: Despite injury, Tyler Higby's future is bright
Despite a broken ankle that will keep him out for the year, freshman guard Tyler Higby has a bright future for Michigan State football.

This comes as a tough pill to swallow for the coaching staff who saw progress in the redshirt freshman each week. In fact, Mark Dantonio even said that he had a solid year for the team before his injury.
While this is definitely a setback, luckily it’s an injury that will take a few months to heal and he should be back by the spring game. An ankle injury is not nearly as bad as Dennis Finley’s broken leg last year and hopefully that will mean he won’t be skittish when he gets back to live action next season.
One thing was obvious with Higby this season: he is the future of the offensive line. Earning the starting job is one thing, but maintaining it for the long-run is another. If he hadn’t broken his ankle, Higby would have been the starter at guard for the rest of the season and likely the next three years.
It’s always tough to see young kids like this go down with injuries, but he has proven that his future in the green and white is very bright. Expect a line anchored by Brian Allen, Thiyo Lukusa and Higby next year.
