Michigan State Football: Injury report vs. Furman
Who won’t be playing on Friday night for Michigan State Football against the Furman Paladins?
Heading into Friday night’s season opener, Michigan State Football has a few question marks still out there. Will Ed Davis ever be granted a sixth year by the NCAA? Will Vayante Copeland get back to full strength after a season-ending injury last year? Can this team repeat as Big Ten champs?

It might take a little while for any of those questions to be answered — hopefully not the Ed Davis question — but the Spartans still get to take the field and hit guys with wrong-colored jerseys on for the first time in eight months.
Some guys might be absent for the opener, so here is the injury report for both teams, according to Chris Solari of the Detroit Free Press:
Michigan State: LB Ed Davis (knee; awaiting NCAA appeal), out; CB Vayante Copeland (vertebra), probable; FB Delton Williams (undisclosed), probable; OL Dennis Finley (leg), probable
Furman: RB Deon Sanders (knee), out for season
While no team wants to play another at less than full strength, these two get to battle it out at as close to 100 percent as can be.
Mark Dantonio is hoping that Davis can win his appeal for a sixth season and get to work, preparing for the Notre Dame game in two weeks. He’s been able to practice with the team, but after a knee injury forced him out in 2015, he has to get back into good football shape.
Those are your injuries for the night, folks. Let’s hope we don’t have to add to the list like we did a season ago.
