Michigan State Football: Injury report vs. Illinois

Here is the injury report for Saturday afternoon’s Michigan State football game against Illinois.

Looking to gain some traction in the quest for a bowl bid in 2016, Michigan State football will take on Illinois Saturday afternoon in Champaign. The two teams are both 2-6 and each is in desperate need of a big win.

Moreover, the Spartans have some confidence left over from a nine-point loss to Michigan, but moral victories don’t add wins to the overall record. Will the Spartans and Illini be at full-strength for this game, though?

Here’s the injury report for Saturday afternoon’s Michigan State vs Illinois game:

Michigan State: QB Tyler O’Connor (foot), probable; QB Damion Terry (hand), probable; DT Malik McDowell (leg/ribs/arm), probable; LB Byron Bullough (undisclosed), questionable; DE Evan Jones (undisclosed), questionable; DB Drake Martinez (undisclosed), questionable; S Grayson Miller (undisclosed), questionable; S Demetrious Cox (lower body), questionable; OL David Beedle (left leg); LB Jon Reschke (ankle) out; QB Brian Lewerke (broken tibia), out

Illinois: WR Desmond Cain (knee), probable; QB Wes Lunt (back), questionable; RB Austin Roberts (knee), questionable; DB Cameron Watkins (undisclosed), questionable; RB Ke’Shawn Vaughn (leg), questionable; WR Malik Turner (concussion), questionable; QB Chayce Crouch (shoulder), out; RB Dre Brown (knee), out; WR Mike Dudek (knee), out; DB Caleb Day (knee), out; WR Dominic Thieman (leg), out

McDowell, O’Connor, Terry and Cox are the main Spartans who are listed on the injury report, but if I had to bet, I’d say each of them plays. Grayson Miller has been improving of late and it’s not a good sight to see him listed.

On the other hand, Illinois’ top receiver, Malik Turner, is only questionable for this one. Wes Lunt and Chayce Crouch could force Jeff George Jr. into action once again under center and the third-leading running back could miss this one.

Neither team is anywhere near full-strength.
