Michigan State Football: Weather report vs. Northwestern
If you’re heading to the Michigan State football game on Saturday vs. Northwestern, here’s what the weather looks like.
Gearing up for one of the most important Michigan State football games of the season thus far, the weather could play a key role in determining what kind of offense the Spartans will have.

Northwestern comes to East Lansing with a 2-3 record as well and the Wildcats run an offense that mixes the run and pass perfectly. Justin Jackson is one of the top backs in the conference, rushing for over 500 yards, while Clayton Thorson has passed for over 1,000 yards on the year.
Will the Spartans be able to slow down the solid run game and strong aerial attack on Saturday or will Northwestern hand Michigan State its fourth consecutive loss?
Here’s a look at what the weather for this weekend’s Michigan State game looks like:
Kickoff weather: 66°F, 4% chance of rain, 14 mph N/NE wind (cloudy)
Weather at game’s end: 65°F, 6% chance of rain, 12 mph N/NE wind (cloudy)
Rarely do we see this type of weather for a mid-October Michigan State game, but there shouldn’t be anyone complaining. There’s little chance for rain and the temperatures will be approaching 70 degrees.
The Spartans should have no problem passing the ball, if Dave Warner allows it, and the run game shouldn’t be relied on too heavily. This is the type of weather we’d see for a mid-to-late September game.
No need for the winter coats just yet as light sweatshirts and track jackets will be all you need to enjoy the game Saturday at Spartan Stadium. Yet another ‘beautiful day for football’ in East Lansing.
