Michigan State names three captains for 2015

Michigan State football coach Mark Dantonio announced his trio of 2015 captains Thursday on Twitter. 

Defensive end Shilique Calhoun and linebacker Darien Harris will represent the defense while center Jack Allen is the captain from the offensive side of the ball. 

Calhoun is entering his third year as a starter and is a two-time All-Big Ten selection. He has 16.5 sacks and 29 tackles for loss in his MSU career. 

Harris is a returning starter at the Star, which is the name of the weak-side linebacker position in the MSU defense, where he made 48 tackles last season. 

Allen is entering his fourth year as a starter on the Spartan offensive line. He was a first-team All-American last season.
