Michigan State's Shilique Calhoun again among the nation's elite at midseason

Published Oct. 28, 2015 3:37 p.m. ET

Michigan State's defense has gone through some changes over the past three years, but there is at least one constant: Shilique Calhoun.

The defensive end is eighth in the country in sacks per game (1.0) and tied for fifth in the Big Ten with 10.5 tackles for loss.

Those numbers were no doubt taken into account when the Ted Hendricks Foundation put Calhoun on its midseason watchlist along with fellow Big Ten East standouts Maryland's Yannick Ngakoue, Indiana's Nick Mangieri, Penn State's Carl Nassib and Ohio State's Joey Bosa.
