Michigan TE credits divine intervention for Michigan State's loss

In the immediate aftermath of Michigan State's stunning loss to Nebraska on Saturday night, Michigan fans began to realize they had a clear path to the Big Ten championship game.

If the Spartans lose again... like to Ohio State in two weeks.

Michigan tight end Jake Butt was among those happy to see the Spartans go down, sending out a tweet that suggested divine intervention in the Cornhuskers' rally in Lincoln and looking ahead to facing the Buckeyes at the end of the month.

"I knew God had our back," Butt wrote in a Tweet that was later deleted. "Lose on fluke to little bro and that's how they had to go down. I am the biggest OSU fan now."

The fluke, of course, would be Michigan State's incredible last-second win over the Wolverines on a botched punt snap last month.

If Ohio State wins out and Michigan wins out, The Game would be for the Big Ten East title and a spot in the Big Ten championship game, but there is a lot of football to play between now and then.
