Mike Leach compares Apple Cup rivalry to the American Revolution

Cougars head coach Mike Leach usually isn't at a loss for words. However, when asked by reporters on Monday which rivalry provided the best analogy for the Apple Cup, Leach was stumped.

Minutes later, though, Leach had his answer.

"George Washington vs. the British," said Leach, in a text to ESPN. The Cougars are Washington, the Huskies the British.

"Obviously," he texted. "We are not purple, the color of royalty."
