Milo's 3 rushing TDs leads N. Colorado past S. Utah 42-39
CEDAR CITY, Utah (AP) — Milo Hall had 21 carries for 128 yards and three touchdowns and Northern Colorado held off Southern Utah 42-39 Saturday night.
Hall's 24-yard touchdown run with 5:56 left in the third quarter put the Bears up 42-18. Southern Utah was held to a three-and-out, but on the punt, Dante Jackson fumbled, and the Thunderbirds' Carlton Johnson recovered at the Bears 11. Karris Davis then ran it in from 11 yards out to cut the deficit to 42-25.
Davis added a 1-yard run in the early in the fourth, and Tyler Skidmore scored to make it 42-39 with 45 seconds to go. Southern Utah got the ball back with 21 seconds to go, but Henry Stelzner intercepted Skidmore and the Bears ran out the clock.
Hall ran for a 3-yard score on Northern Colorado's (2-7, 1-4 Big Sky Conference) first drive that spanned just 65 seconds and covered 72 yards in four plays. On the Bears' second drive, Keaton Mott threw a 32-yard score to Willie Fairman to make it 14-0.
Skidmore led Southern Utah (1-7, 1-4) with 330 yards passing and a touchdown, Davis ran for three scores and Landon Measom had five receptions for 154 yards and a touchdown.
