Minnesota D-coordinator says Gophers will be in the game
A season ago, TCU won against Minnesota 30-7 in Fort Worth.
It was the debut of the Air-Raid offense and the beginning of what would turn into a 12-1 season.
The Horned Frogs open 2015 with a Sept. 3 game at Minnesota and Gophers' defensive coordinator Tracy Claeys says he thinks Minnesota will be in the game in the fourth quarter.
"I feel more comfortable this year just because we’re older, we’ve been in that situation," Claeys said to the Minneapolis Star Tribune. "So that’s all I’ll tell them is, "'You’ve got to be sharp and ready to go. If you’re not, it’s going to be a heck of a long night. But if we are, if we’re sharp and on our game, I expect us to have a chance to win in the fourth quarter."
TCU averaged 46.5 points per game last season.
"Here’s what you worry about," Claeys said to the Star Tribune. "You play a team like TCU, if you have a bad game against them, they will put 77 or 80 points on the board against you -- bottom line. If you don’t come ready to play full-speed, and play the way you’re supposed to, they will bury you and score 70 points."
