Mississippi State Football Weather Forecast: Fun, Fun, Fun Edition

Published Jun. 30, 2017 6:28 p.m. ET

It’s time to head back to the source of “fun, fun, fun,” and where the Mississippi State football squad decided to have a little fun while being #1. So will the weather cooperate and make this a memorable trip for all?

Well that might just happen, to be honest. As this cold front pushes through the Southeast, it brings some actual Fall weather with it. Temperatures are dropping, humidity is going away, and it’s football weather. So when we head to Commonwealth Stadium, it’s going to be a different feel to the game.

We all remember how everything went last time in Lexington, KY. Josh Robinson decided to do spin moves on EVERYONE, and the Bulldogs made a statement. Kentucky is also the squad where Anthony “Boobie” Dixon decided to have some “fun, fun, fun” while Grindin for Our State. At the same time, Kentucky has been the source of some heartbreak for the Bulldogs. So what should we expect this time from the weather?

Numbers you want to know

Tailgating outside Commonwealth Stadium (3:30 PM EDT): 57 °F, partly cloudy, winds from the NW at 5-10 MPH

Gates open (5:30 PM EDT): 55 °F, mostly sunny, winds from the WNW at 5-10 MPH

Kickoff between the Bulldogs and the Wildcats (7:30 PM EDT): 52 °F, mostly clear, winds from the W at 5-10 MPH

Halftime and more fun, fun, fun (9:00 PM EDT): 50 °F, clear, winds from the WSW below 5 MPH

Wrapping Commonwealth Stadium in Maroon and White (10:30 PM EDT): 45 °F, clear, winds from the SW below 5 MPH

All in all, the weather is going to be a lot colder than earlier in the year. Which means everyone from players to fans needs to be ready for some chills. Unless you watch the game from home, everything is going to be uncomfortable if you don’t dress halfway warm. But let’s just say that it’s definitely time for more football weather like this.
