Mississippi State vs. Alabama Game Time Announced

Published Jun. 30, 2017 6:28 p.m. ET

Mississippi State will travel to Tuscaloosa to play Alabama on November 12, 2016.

Mississippi State vs. Alabama will kickoff at 11:00 AM and will be broadcast by ESPN.

Over the past decade, MSU is 2-0 when playing Alabama at 11:00 (2006, 2007) and 0-8 when playing them at any other time of day. But don’t hold your breath on this one.

This game was actually one of only two game times the SEC (or, CBS) could make up their mind on. CBS didn’t want this game or the Vanderbilt vs. Missouri game.

Other games on November 12th are:

None of those games have a kickoff time, and they won’t be announced until Sunday, November 6th.

Alabama is the only SEC team Dan Mullen has not beaten while at MSU. Coming into 2015, he hadn’t defeated Bama (0-7) or South Carolina (0-2) but he was able to beat the Gamecocks in Week 2. That leaves the Tide as the only SEC team left he has yet to beat.

There’s some mystery about who will win the presidential election on November 8th. But by the time this game kicks off at 11:00 AM we will know who our next president will be. As for which team will win this game, there is no mystery. This is the biggest “on paper” mismatch between these two teams since perhaps 2005 when No. 4 Alabama came to Starkville. But at least back then Sylvester Croom motivated the team enough that we only lost by 17 points. This one will be much worse.
