Mississippi State vs. Texas A&M Point Spread Announced

Mississippi State will host Texas A&M at 11:00 AM Central on November 5, 2016.

Mississippi State opened as a 10.5 point underdog to Texas A&M.

This will be the third trip to Starkville for the Aggies since they joined the SEC. And for the third time, the game will be played at 11:00.

In 2012, Texas A&M won the infamous “Snow Bowl Reunion” game in 75 degree whether. Actually they didn’t just win it, but Johnny Manziel torched the Bulldog defense and the game ended in a 38-13 route.

In 2014, it was just the opposite as Mississippi State was dealing the blows to the Aggies. Up 48-17 at one point, MSU won by a final of 48-31.

I’ve said multiple times that having this game be the “battle to wear maroon” would be really cool. Winner gets to wear maroon the next season – since both of our colors are maroon and white (but emphasis for both is on maroon). Yet our marketing department has wholesale rejected any notion of that entirely.

This year’s game will feature a “black out”. In 2012, it was a white out, and we wore white from head to toe. In fact, Texas A&M wore black in that game so that neither team wore maroon. Adidas at its finest.

It should be the battle to wear maroon. It makes plenty of sense to me. But at the very least don’t give up our home-field right to wear maroon by putting on black! Unbelievable.

Well, anyway, I guess we’ll wear black….to an 11:00 AM game. Maybe we won’t get killed and it’ll look like a funeral.
