Mizzou hires Chris Wilson as its new defensive line coach
On Monday, Chris Wilson was named as Mizzou's new defensive line coach. It continues a trend of staff turnover from the previous regime.
Wilson comes to Columbia from Southern Cal. Prior to his two years in Los Angeles, the Oklahoma graduate has accrued considerable experience from all across the country -- including stops at Georgia, Oklahoma, Colorado, and Mississippi State.
Barry Odom's decision to replace Craig Kuligowski with Wilson is an interesting one. Kuligowski is reputed as a defensive line developer-extraordinaire. He spent 15 seasons in Columbia under Gary Pinkel -- developing players including Ziggy Hood, Michael Sam, Aldon Smith, Markus Golden, Kony Ealy, Sheldon Richardson, Dominique Hamilton, and Shane Ray.

New #Mizzou DL coach Chris Wilson's got some huge shoes to fill again replacing Craig Kuligowski. At USC, he followed Ed Orgeron.

He's also worked with current members Walter Brady, Harold Brantley, Charles Harris, and Terry Beckner Jr.
Wilson's experience coaching in both SEC and Big 12 country should serve him well when it comes to recruiting. He appears to be excited at the chance to coach under Odom at Mizzou.
"I understand the tradition of excellence that Mizzou has had with the defensive line, and I'm honored to come in and work hard to help give them a chance to be even better in the future," said Wilson.
