Mizzou, Vandy, USC programs recognized for exemplary work in classroom

On Tuesday, Missouri was one of three SEC schools (along with Vanderbilt and South Carolina) lauded for graduating at least 90-percent of its student athletes since 2008. 

Vanderbilt and Duke were singled-out as the winners of the AFCA Academic Achievement Award. 

Without question, former head coaches Steve Spurrier and Gary Pinkel, and current head coach Derek Mason prioritize academia within their squads.

We often lose sight of what the responsibilities of a student-athlete are. There's a reason the word "student" is listed ahead of "athlete" in the individual's description.

Missouri, Vanderbilt, and South Carolina have all demonstrated this premise at an extremely high level.
