Mizzou WR Moore injured but not expected to miss much time

Published Aug. 18, 2015 8:04 p.m. ET

After reports Monday night that Missouri wide receiver J'Mon Moore had a potentially serious shoulder injury, the Tigers got some good news Tuesday, when coach Gary Pinkel told the media that Moore is day-to-day.

Moore has what is being considered a left shoulder strain, according to Saturday Down South, and isn't expected to miss any extended time.

The 6-foot-3, 190-pound redshirt sophomore is competing for one of Mizzou's starting receiver positions. Moore practiced in spring with the starters and led the team in last weekend's scrimmage with five catches for 105 yards.

Moore's injury isn't the only one affecting the Tigers currently; Moore's primary competition for a starting spot, DeSean Blair, has been practicing with a left ankle sprain.

Moore caught two passes for 33 yards in a backup role last year after redshirting in 2013.
