Montana's Strong to serve two-game suspension

Published Oct. 25, 2017 9:20 p.m. ET

(STATS) - Montana suspended senior safety Justin Strong for the next two games following his arrest last weekend.

Strong will miss games against Weber State on Saturday and Northern Arizona on Nov. 4 for violating Montana's student-athlete code of conduct. He will be eligible to compete again against Northern Colorado on Nov. 11.

The Griz had an open week last weekend when the 22-year-old Strong was arrested early Saturday following the assault of a Washington State University student in Pullman. Strong, originally from Rialto, California, told police he was assaulted by the victim while trying to break up a fight and acted in self-defense when he struck him several times. The victim was hospitalized.
