(STATS) - Morgan State will play five home games and make a trip to Big Ten member Rutgers as part of an 11-game 2017 schedule that was announced Tuesday.

Last year, the Bears finished 3-8 overall and 3-5 in the MEAC under interim coach Fred Farrier. He was promoted to full-time head coach after the season.

Morgan State will open the season at Towson (Sept. 2) before hosting Albany (Sept. 9) at Hughes Stadium in a first-ever matchup. The Bears will wrap up non-conference play at Rutgers (Sept. 16).

Within the MEAC, Morgan State will host North Carolina A&T (Sept. 23), Savannah State (Oct. 14), Florida A&M (Oct. 28) and Norfolk State (Nov. 18). The Bears' road conference games are against South Carolina State (Oct. 7), Howard (Oct. 21), Bethune-Cookman (Nov. 4) and Delaware State (Nov. 11).
