Most difficult player for Iowa to replace: Brandon Scherff
It's never easy to replace an Outland Trophy winner, All-American, and number five pick in the NFL Draft. That's exactly the uneasy task that Kirk Ferentz and the Iowa Hawkeyes face in replacing Brandon Scherff.
The big offensive lineman has moved on to the Washington Redskins and someone has to try to fill his shoes. The man who will get the first crack at it is the 6'5" and 300 pound sophomore Boone Meyers.
Myers is ready for his opportunity per Hawk Central:
"I've got a lot of work to do," Myers said. A young guy in the line, filling some big shoes. I've got to improve on a lot of things. I'm looking forward to it."
It's unclear if Meyers will blossom into the star that Scherff was but I wouldn't bet against the track record of Kirk Ferentz developing lineman.
