Nate Sudfeld named Indiana football season MVP
Since Nate Sudfeld's injury pretty much sunk the 2014 season for Indiana football, it makes sense he was named the team's most valuable player after a big 2015 campaign.
Sudfeld, a senior quarterback, was recognized as such during the team's annual awards banquet Friday.
The Modesto, Calif., native was the Big Ten's Offensive Player of the Week in each of the last two weeks of the season as the Hoosiers finished strong to earn a Pinstripe Bowl berth against Duke.
A season ago, his midseason injury resulted in the traditionally strong IU offense struggling to score, and the Hoosiers finished 4-8.
He enters the postseason leading the Big Ten in passing yards per game (289.5), total offense (293.2 yards per game), yards per completion (14.5) and passing efficiency.
