Nebraska Football Now Projected To Cotton Bowl By One ESPN Analyst
Yes, it’s still pretty early to see where people think the Nebraska football team will be playing its bowl game.
It’s also still a little fun to look and see just how big a bowl game the Nebraska football team might be attending thanks to the people it’s convinced. In the latest ESPN projections, one ESPN analyst clearly isn’t convinced yet.
Bret McMurphy now believes the Huskers are going to be playing on January 2 in the Cotton Bowl. The Cornhuskers are projected to go up against Boise State, who is also currently undefeated. That would certainly be an interesting matchup and one that has never happened before.
Mark Schlabach projects a slightly less prestigious, but equally interesting bowl game matchup for the Huskers. The ESPN analyst says he believes the Nebraska football team is headed to the December 27 Holiday Bowl.
Who would the Huskers be squaring off against should that prediction come to fruition? None other than former long time conference foe Colorado. The Buffaloes are having a resurgent year after spending the better part of a decade being one of the worst teams in college football.
Obviously, with more than five weeks to go in the regular season, anything could happen. The Huskers are, after all still undefeated and poised to head to the Big Ten championship game. Currently ranked 7th in the country, as improbable as it sounds the Huskers are still in line for the College football playoff should they keep winning and other top teams get knocked off.
