Nebraska Football To Host Top 2018 Recruit This Weekend

Published Jun. 30, 2017 6:28 p.m. ET

There’s very little doubt that the Nebraska football team is poised for a very big recruiting weekend.

We detailed several of the players that are looking to be in Lincoln for the game against Illinois but at least of the players who is looking to come is very much a part of the far flung future of the Huskers’ football team. Brendan Radley-Hiles, a defensive back and wide receiver from Calabasas, California announced on Twitter he’s making the trip this weekend.

Radley-Hiles, unlike the rest of the players who will be visiting is part of the 2018 class, rather than the 2017 class. That means he has one more year of highschool football after this one.

Going after the talented player shows that Mike Riley and company are trying to pave the way for the future of the program as well as the near present.

If Calabasas sounds familiar to you, it’s because two Nebraska football commits in the 2017 class are teammates of Radley-Hines. Quarterback Tristan Gebbia and wide receiver Keyshawn Johnson Jr are both members of the Calabasas crew.

No coincidentally, Johnson Jr. is going to be in Lincoln this weekend as well and will likely be underlining what he has been telling his teammate about the school as the Huskers take on Illinois. Radley-Hines, otherwise known as Bookie is one of the most sought after 2018 recruits.

In addition to the Nebraska football team giving him the hard sales job, Notre Dame, Alabama and USC have all offered him a scholarship. The 4-star recruit is leaning towards Nebraska, according to 247Sports‘ crystal ball.
