Nebraska working 'satellite camp' in Atlanta
The Nebraska Cornhuskers are taking their show on the road.
It was reported first this morning by 247Sports that the Huskers will team up with Georgia State University to hold a camp there one day before Penn State will hold theirs. The camp will be held June 15th and GSU will collect each of the $50 fees for players to attend. Only Nebraska coaches are allowed to instruct.
GSU football coach Trent Miles has heard the criticism from SEC schools that are upset about him essentially renting out his campus and had this to say via PennLive.com:
"People have been doing this for years. The only reason the SEC complains is it's the only time they've come into their territory to do it. They have a conference rule that says they can't do the same thing."
"It's not our fault they have a bad rule. It needs to change. You're telling me if there are kids in the southeast part of country who would like to be recruited by or checked out by Penn State or Notre Dame, they should be banned from seeing them? That's an SEC problem, not a James Franklin, Penn State or Georgia State problem."
Mike Riley and his staff have done these camps at Oregon State for years now, so it is no suprise they are bringing the practice to the Cornhusker State.
