New members influence list of top prospects in Big Ten
Scout.com released its first list of the top 100 players for the 2017 recruiting class Wednesday with 16 prospects from what now constitutes the Big Ten footprint.
The top-rated player is Joshua Kaindoh, a five-star defensive ned from Our Lady of Mt. Carmel in Maryland. He is the 10th-rated prospect overall in the country.
Next in the region is Ohio State commit Josh Myers of Miaimsburg, the No. 1 player in Ohio and No. 15 nationally. He is the nation's No. 4 offensive tackle prospect.
For those keeping track of the impact of conference expansion, six of Big Ten country's top 16 prospects come from Maryland, New Jersey or Washington, D.C.
Also of note: Only three of the top 16 prospects in Big Ten country hail from the states that are home to Big Ten West teams, and that includes Indiana, which has a team from each division.
