New wrinkle makes Mountaineers offense more dangerous

Dana Holgorsen has made his name known in college football, and West Virginia, as champion of the 'Air Raid' offense. He's never drifted from scheme, and for the most part, it's done him well.

But it can't hurt to add a new wrinkle to any spectacular scheme, and the Mountaineers are doing just that.

Holgorsen implemented the zone read with Skyler Howard, especially near the red zone, far more than usual. And it's been working.

“It’s been fun for me to learn a lot about it and work it,” Holgorsen said. “It’s become pretty valuable.”
