News of Darius Hamilton's return a bright spot for Rutgers football
As a disappointing 2015 season Rutgers football winds down, the first piece of good news for 2016 arrived this week.
That would be star defensive lineman Darius Hamilton declaring he will return next year after missing nearly all of this season with a knee injury.
Asked about the possibility of coach Kyle Flood being fired altering Hamilton's plans, the New Jersey native replied, "I don't think so, man. I'm a Jersey guy. I love this place, love this university. I love my teammates, so no matter what happens, I'll be here."
Hamilton had a team-high 11.5 tackles for loss last season and was an honorable mention All-Big Ten pick.
He was voted a team captain before this season but declared out for the season late September.
