No. 24 Washington State QB Luke Falk taken off on backboard
PULLMAN, Wash. (AP) Washington State quarterback Luke Falk has been taken off the field on a backboard after suffering an apparent head injury midway through the third quarter, but he gave thumbs up and waved his hands as he was removed from the stadium.
Falk was strapped to a backboard and carted off after being sacked by Colorado's Samson Kafovalu on Saturday. Falk was whipped around and his head slammed against the turf on a cold night with below freezing temperatures. He appeared to be knocked out and was down on the field for about seven minutes. The injury came a week after Falk appeared to suffer a head injury against UCLA, but was cleared to return in the second half.
Falk was 27-of-35 passing for 199 yards and one touchdown. He was replaced by Peyton Bender.
