Noel Mazzone named Offensive Coordinator of the Week
Noel Mazzone, offensive coordinator for the UCLA Bruins, had quite an impressive week during the 2015 opener.
Most notably, quarterback Josh Rosen put on an electrifying show in his debut: 28-for-35 for 351 yards with three TD's and no turnovers. It was a record-setting performance by the true freshman, who is suddenly one of the most exciting players in NCAA football.
Mazzone's game plan was most impressive considering the diversity of the offensive attack: Rosen hit three different receivers for touchdowns, and also completed passes to eleven different receivers during the match.
The only other Pac-12 coach to win assistant coach honors during the season opener was Utah's defensive backs coach, Sharrieff Shah. Mazzone has been with the UCLA program since 2012.
