North Carolina Student Claims she was Raped by Football Player
A student at North Carolina Chapel Hill is holding a new conference on Tuesday to discuss her claims that she was raped by a UNC football player.
With all of the recent news surrounding sexual assault cases being covered up with the Baylor Bears football team, another one is now coming out of the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill.
According to ABC 11 in North Carolina, a student at UNC Chapel Hill will be holding a press conference on Tuesday. The student is claiming that she was raped by a Tar Heels football player, and that the investigation has been intentionally stalled to avoid holding her attacker accountable.
Sexual assault allegations are a huge problem in college sports, especially with the way schools like Baylor are handling them. If you recall, Baylor had been found to fail to investigate multiple allegations of sexual assault towards the school’s football players, leading to the firing of Bears coach Art Biles and the firing of Ken Starr as the university’s president.
These recent allegations coming out of UNC come a day after the NCAA announced that it would be relocating all of its championships during the 2016-17 seasons out of North Carolina due to the state’s concerning civil rights protections. Oddly enough, a North Carolina republican spokesperson called out the NCAA for focusing on the state instead of issues regarding sexual assault at Baylor.
The UNC student’s press conference will be held later on Tuesday. We will provide you with more information as it is released regarding the allegations.
