Nothing official, but Ertz is leading the QB race

Oklahoma and Kansas named their starting quarterback this week.

Maybe Kansas State is next.

Sophomore Jesse Ertz is said to be in the lead over Joe Hubener, Alex Delton and Jonathan Banks, but it's hard to imagine the Cats getting consistent play from any of the three newcomers to the starting role.

Ertz has never attempted a pass for Kansas State but he was the one who looked the best at K-State's open practice last week, according to multiple sources.

Ertz is said to be a stronger runner and is easily the most consistent passer of the three Don't be surprised if Delton or Banks also plays in a "Wildcat" type package that could rotate as the season progresses.

Nothing official yet, but pencil in Ertz as the starter when the team plays its opener against South Dakota.
