Ohio State Recruiting: Urban Meyer's 'Terrific 21'
The 2017 Ohio State recruiting class.
The 2017 recruiting class will go down as one of the best in Ohio State history. Urban Meyer’s class finished second in the total team rankings to Alabama but had seven fewer recruits. However, Urban’s “Terrific 21” class has the highest player average ever in the 247Sports Composite rankings.
The numbers are impressive, but when you look at the individual players and/or units it really blows you away. Just take a look and see what I mean.
The number 2 ranked dual threat quarterback in the nation. Tate Martell was undefeated as a starter and his team won three Nevada State Championships and a couple of mythical National Championships.
The No. 2 All-Purpose back in the nation who accumulated 5,000 yards his final two years of high school.
One of the best groups of wide receivers in the country and three of the four are 6-3 or taller. Brendon White, the little guy, is 6-1.5 200 pounds and is do everything kind of player.
Two offensive linemen rated as 4 stars and a 5 star guard who played everywhere he was needed on the line in high school.
Two outstanding defensive tackles who are rated 4 stars.
More from Scarlet and Game
A 6-5 250 pound defensive end who is ranked No. 2 in the country at his position. Wait until you see this guy play.
A 4 star middle linebacker to go along with the No.1 player in the country at the position.
A group of defensive backs that is off the charts. Three players are rated as 4 stars, two others are 5 stars and the No. 1 and No. 2 high school cornerbacks in the country. The other one is the No. 1 junior college cornerback in the country.
The number 2 rated kicker in the nation.
Most coaches would love to have any of these situations in a recruiting class and Urban Meyer has them all.
