OL graduate transfer Catalina is a hot commodity with SEC programs
The advent of the "graduate transfer" has completely impacted the climate of college football. These "mercenaries" of sorts are plug-and-play athletes -- possessing experience, maturity, and a battle-tested resume.
One of these graduate transfers -- former Rhode Island offensive lineman Tyler Catalina -- is garnering plenty of interest from many programs all across the country.
Although he's technically committed to Iowa State, Catalina hasn't signed any official paperwork. His commitment is non-binding -- which allows him to visit other programs.
As Catalina told The Des Moines Register, "As of right now, I'm just going through the process and exploring all options and just trying to find where the best fit would be for me to play next year."
The 6-foot-6, 298-pound Massachusetts native started 33 games during his career at Rhode Island -- amassing second-team All-Conference honors in 2015. A true left tackle, Catalina has solid athleticism to go along with strong leadership skills.
Catalina has already visited Florida, and will soon take trips to both Auburn and Georgia.
At this point, it's anyone's guess as to where Catalina will eventually end up.
