Ole Miss Football: Evan Engram Named First Team All-American
Evan Engram was named a First Team All-American on Monday by the Associated Press. He became the 58th Ole Miss player to ever receive the honor.
Ole Miss tight end Evan Engram added another award to his trophy case on Monday. The senior was named to the Associated Press’ first -team All-American squad.
Engram is the first Ole Miss tight end to be named a first- team All-American since Rufus French in 1999. He is the fourth tight end in Ole Miss history to be named to the team.
Engram hauled in 65 catches for 926 yards and eight touchdowns in 11 games played this season. He finishes his career with 162 catches for 2,320 yards and 15 touchdowns.
This is the fourth first-team All-American in five years in the Hugh Freeze era at Ole Miss. Engram joins Cody Prewitt, Senquez Golson and Robert Nkemdiche.
Junior kicker Gary Wunderlich was also named a third-team All-American by the Associated Press on Monday.
