Ole Miss Football: It's Revenge Week for the Rebels

Published Jun. 30, 2017 6:28 p.m. ET

Arkansas ended Ole Miss’ hopes of winning an SEC West title last season. It is time for Ole Miss football to seek out revenge on the Razorbacks.

Fourth-year Arkansas head coach Bret Bielema has only won seven SEC games in his tenure with the Razorbacks. Unfortunately for Ole Miss fans, two of those have come at the expense of the Rebels.  It is tough for any Ole Miss fan to argue who the better team was in 2014 in Fayetteville.

The ‘Hogs jumped to a 17-0 lead in the first quarter and never looked back, winning the game 30-0. Bo Wallace left the game with an ankle injury and all in all the game was just a disaster for the Rebels.

Then came the 2015 game in Oxford, one of the best games of the season in college football last year.

Ole Miss lost 53-52 in double overtime and as we all know, the Rebels were a 4th and 25 heave from winning the SEC West.

Now it is time for revenge for the Rebels. Arkansas is the only SEC West team Ole Miss has not defeated since the beginning of the 2014 season. It is unacceptable that Ole Miss is two of Bret Bielema’s seven SEC wins.

This Arkansas team looks ripe for the picking after getting blown out against Alabama this past weekend. The Razorbacks have really struggled against upper tier SEC teams (Alabama and Texas A&M).

The bottom line is Ole Miss should have this game circled and not take the Razorbacks lightly, even if they are the better team on paper.

After all, you never know which game or even play can decide a division title.
