Ole Miss Football: Rebels Fall to Florida State 45-34
The Ole Miss football team lost to the Florida State Seminoles tonight, 45-34.
Florida State started Monday nights game off with a whimper, letting the Ole Miss football squad take a 28-6 lead before the half. But after that, it was an Indian revolution.
The Seminoles charged back, defeating the Rebels 45-34.
So what went wrong?
Well, the Seminoles were awoken after a sorry first half. The Rebels came out and allowed a touchdown right out of the half. The offensive line for FSU was finally playing like they should.
They also cut down on the penalties that killed them in the first half.
The Rebels just couldn’t do anything in the third quarter against the ‘Noles. The offense was going three and out in 15 seconds, and the defense was getting gassed by a freshman quarterback.
Freeze offered his comments after the game.
“That was a nightmarish second half.”
Well, not sure I can argue with you Hugh.
Chad Kelly was 21-39 with 313 yards, 4 touchdowns and 3 interceptions.
Even after losing to the Noles, the worst part of tonight is the injuries. Ken Webster and Eric Swinney are two big time players that are looking at serious injuries it appears. We have yet to officially hear on either of the two.
The season is not over for the Rebels, who still have to play Alabama and Georgia before the month ends. If the Rebels can find a groove and get hot in SEC play, they can easily win the West. But some changes will have to be made.
Ole Miss takes on Wofford on Saturday in Oxford, which will be the opening game for the new and improved Vaught-Hemingway Stadium.
