Oregon Football Recruiting: Offensive Lineman John Vaka Lands At BYU
Former Oregon Offenisve Line JUCO Commit finds new landing spot at BYU.
Last week, Offensive Lineman John Vaka de-committed from the Oregon Ducks following the firing of Mark Helfrich. The Junior College Transfer found a new home on Tuesday at BYU. He becomes the 16th commit for the Cougars Recruiting Class of 2017.
Vaka would have been a nice addition to the Oregon Ducks Offensive Line, which is loaded with youth. 2016 saw injuries lead to a lot of experience for young players. Willie Taggart has been working hard since his hiring offering over 10 recruits to come to play for him at Oregon.
With the hiring of Willie Taggart, Vaka de-commited last month and found a new home at Brigham Young.

The Oregon Ducks enter the 2017 season with a lot of experience along the Offensive Line. There were quite a few instances where there were five true freshman playing throughout the 2016 season helping to protect Quarterback Justin Herbert, who ended the season as one of the most successful signal callers in school history.
National Signing Day is set for Wednesday, February 1st.
