Oregon State head coach 'would be shocked' if Stanford QB Hogan doesn't play

Published Sep. 24, 2015 3:46 p.m. ET

Stanford QB Kevin Hogan is questionable for Friday night's game at Oregon State due to a sprained ankle he suffered in last week's 41-31 win over USC.

While it isn't known whether or not Hogan will play against the Beavers (FS1, 7 p.m.), Beavers head coach Gary Andersen said that he "would be shocked if (Hogan) doesn't play."

"I completely expect him to play," Andersen said of Hogan. "We watched him in the last game (against USC) tough it out. It was obvious he was hurting, but when he had to make a play with his feet, he was still able to do that. I'm sure the coaches all feel like the next guy up is going to come in and run the offense effectively for them (if Hogan can't play). We haven't even really discussed it."

If Hogan isn't ready to go, Stanford will turn to Keller Chryst and Ryan Burns.
