The uniforms feature the message Citius Altius Fortius on the breastplate at the apex of the v-neck, and judging from the website tweeted out along with the images translates to faster, higher, stronger.

The Twitter also highlights the blue-collar ethics and innovation that inspired the uniform, but that might not be the traits that college fans associate with the school.

Here is the backstory according to the website:

“Nike conducted a meeting with members of the Oregon Football team nearly a year and a half ago to gain insight and inspiration for a possible future uniform release. The meeting led to a conversation regarding the topics of innovation, dedication, and who at Oregon is the epitome of those ideals…

“…the conversation was quick and the decision was unanimous.”

The answer was Jim Radcliffe, a former student-athlete in his 30th year as the school’s head strength and conditioning coach. It was with him in mind that these uniforms were designed.

The uniforms themselves have a sweatshirt grey kind of look with the normal fluorescent yellow. The helmet is a mat black which looks clean.

They also released a hype trailer for the uniforms.
